Photo of the Day
we have a teenage crow that sits on a branch outside our house every morning and starts off on his voice exercises. he gargles, gurgles, karkarkars, ghrughrus, ghrings, krreeks, and a whole other variety of sounds that quite surprisingly doesn’t include ka ka.
this photo was taken in kaza in the spiti valley. we saw these black birds from a distance which seemed to soar like eagles. sudden spurts of movement until they gracefully piggyback a thermal and dance circles around the small town. its only when they came closer did we realise that these were actually crows. but with yellow beaks. over the next two weeks we saw these fellows everywhere. we were told that there are crows with black, white, and red beaks. although we didn’t see any.
